Workstories is an office building of 8 floors in Bangkok’s CBD. It consists of service offices, co-working area, and a rooftop bar. The office provides solutions for new startups and small-to-medium business owners who are looking for a workplace with maximum privacy and utilization. The service office types ranging from typical closed area of two to six pax, dedicated desks, hot desks, and co-working space. These options are designed to customize individual requirements with minimum rent fee service.
The ideas are inspired by the owner’s linkage with bricks due to the family business long history with the brick business. The exterior allows the brick to be hidden by the building’s axes. The interior space explodes the continuous flows from the exterior axes, implementing bricks in the main communal area; ground floor wall, vertical circulations, upper level’s ceiling, and the rooftop floor. Visitors are reminded of the ‘palimpsest’ technique. It embraces historical traces of the unique 60s brick format, texture and colors, which is completely different than the one used in construction today. It evokes a sense of rawness and tactility, getting to the heart of its historical authenticity.
Stainless steel brass tubes are used to weave through the ceiling, analogous to the intwining connections of each client’s business stories.
The brick core is concealed inside the building mass and outer surfaces which can be seen through a narrow vertical open from the outside.
